FAQ / The essentials
Questions before
the first step.
Clear answers about completing the Series, building a company programme and collecting all five pieces.
How the five challenges connect.
The Series
01Do I have to complete the challenges in order?+
No. Challenge numbers identify the five collection pieces; they do not set a required order. Start with any of the five.
02Is there a time limit for completing the Series?+
There is no default deadline for reaching 5 / 5. Specific organised events will have their own operational schedules and requirements.
03Can one person complete all five?+
Yes. An individual can build a personal collection across all five challenges.
04Are all fifteen peaks already confirmed?+
Yorkshire and Brecon Beacons have named peak sets. Challenge Central is finalising the approved operating routes for Peak District, Lake District and Snowdonia before every remaining summit and route figure is published.
Building a collective programme.
Companies & teams
05Can my company take part?+
Yes. Challenge Central can discuss a private standalone challenge or a multi-event 3 Peaks Series programme for companies, charities and employee networks.
06Does the same team need to complete all five?+
No. In a Company Series, different employees can join different challenges while the organisation progresses collectively.
07Can we begin with one challenge?+
Yes. Starting with one event does not prevent your organisation from extending the journey into a wider Series later.
08Can we raise money for charity?+
Fundraising integration can be discussed during programme planning. The exact model and responsibilities are agreed with the organisation and any charity partners.
09What can Challenge Central manage?+
The programme scope may include planning, participant communications, event leadership, logistics, agreed safety documentation, medals and the finish experience. Exact inclusions are confirmed in the proposal.
10Are corporate prices fixed?+
No standard package prices are currently published. A proposal follows a conversation about participant numbers, challenge selection, timing and delivery scope.
Preparation, difficulty and event options.
Challenge days
11How difficult are the challenges?+
All five are significant mountain challenges requiring appropriate preparation. The exact distance, ascent, terrain and format vary; confirmed information appears on each challenge page.
12Do I need mountaineering experience?+
They are intended as walking challenges rather than technical climbing events. Participants still need suitable fitness, mountain-ready kit and the ability to follow event-specific guidance.
13What happens if the weather is poor?+
Mountain conditions can change quickly. The approved operational plan for each event will determine how conditions, route decisions and participant safety are managed. Final instructions take precedence over website summaries.
14Can I join a public event?+
Yes, where Challenge Central has a suitable organised date. Public event information and bookings live on the Challenge Central event calendar rather than being duplicated on this microsite.
15What is included in an organised event?+
Inclusions vary by event and programme. Confirmed services will be stated with the event information or agreed directly during team planning.
Claims, evidence and collection pieces.
Independent completion & medals
16Can I complete a challenge independently?+
Eligible independent completions are intended to count. Final recognised-route, evidence and historical eligibility rules are still awaiting approval.
17How will I prove completion?+
The intended approach is lightweight human review using suitable evidence such as an activity link, GPX or activity screenshot, official result, certificate or completion photo. Final requirements will be published before claims open.
18How do I claim a medal?+
Record an eligible independent completion, then add a UK delivery address to reserve the corresponding medal. The claim is stored centrally by Challenge Central. No payment is taken until secure ordering opens in January 2027.
19Can previous Challenge Central completions count?+
The historical-completion policy has not yet been approved. Keep any completion records while the final rules are being prepared.
20Are the medal designs final?+
Not yet. The five-piece collection is currently being designed. Current visuals demonstrate the system rather than the final manufactured medals.
21What happens at 5 / 5?+
Your five pieces form the completed The 3 Peaks Series collection. Future additions may include a digital passport, completion number or certificate, but those features are not yet promised.
